Communicating Climate Science using Cognitive Science – University of East Anglia


Mr Arvind L Sha from the Environmental Governance Group (EnGG) at PAC presented a paper Evidence-based decision-making using Fuzzy Cognitive Maps: lessons from the Global South” at a workshop on Communicating Climate Science using Cognitive Science at the School of Psychology, University of East Anglia and Tyndall Climate Centre, Norwich, United Kingdom. This two-day interdisciplinary workshop in London on 10th and 11th of November 2016 brought together expertise from the cognitive science, psychology, climate science and policy-making communities, with the goal of improving accessibility to climate science evidence.

At the workshop, the presentations and discussions ranged from understandings complex scientific information for decision-making, such as data presented in graphs and maps, and through language, was presented and discussed. The workshop also enabled the sharing of ideas to inform future research goals and opportunities for future collaboration.
