During the year 2022-23, receipt of project funds from the various clients had been reduced seriously impacting the
cash flow for operational expenses.
Despite this drawback implementation of a deferred salary payments for Senior Management team and strict control
over administrative expenses enabled the Centre to manage the reduced fund flow and ensure that all important oper-
ational and project related activities were completed.
Another distressing fact was the non-receipt of funds from the Planning, Programme Monitoring and Statistics De-
partment of the Government of Karnataka towards the Knowledge Partnership agreement on Centre for Open Data
Research (CODR) during the entire FY 2022-23 which had a very great impact on the Centre’s cash flow.
I believe that timely and complete receipt of project receivables from the clients, mainly Government departments,
would have enabled us to take up some more activities which were not funded by donors.
The year 2022-23 provided an opportunity to reflect into better and innovative ideas of cash and fund management,
strict control over administrative expenses as also using tools like ‘Clockify’ and ‘Keka’ to effectively measure staff at-
tendance and productivity.
